In Psalm 23, David wrote that God has “prepared a table before me in the presence of my enemies.” It’s important to note that this table is set for two. Our enemy, the devil, is not intended to join us there. Yet, he seizes every opportunity to lie his way into our minds and claim control over our lives. He can cause our minds to spin out of control with thoughts that are unproductive, destructive, and harmful. It is our responsibility to manage whose voices are at that table! Our Good Shepherd invites us to linger at this table and find nourishment, rest, and deep intimacy with the King of the Universe. It’s time to win the battle for your mind.
But if you refuse to serve the LORD, then choose today whom you will serve. Would you prefer the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates? Or will it be the gods of the Amorites in whose land you now live? But as for me and my family, we will serve the LORD .” - Joshua 24:15 (NLT)
