Overcomers Cancer Support Group is a ministry of RIO Revolution Church that began in 2013. Since that time, it has reached out to hundreds of cancer patients and their families throughout Blount County. Our ministry team is mainly comprised of cancer survivors and caregivers, and from our own personal experiences we bring to our gatherings the love and compassion that only Jesus can give, ready to serve and minister to those in need.
We meet on the 2nd Monday of every month at RIO Revolution Church in the foyer at 6:15 pm, serving up dinner and fellowship from our wonderful team members. Our speakers are people that our crowd can relate to, which is someone who has experienced cancer firsthand and boldly shares their amazing Overcomer story. Our guests quickly become our friends who receive great encouragement from these testimonies each month, and find that they can be an Overcomer, too! Personal testimonies are such a powerful tool to share, and have the power to change circumstances in your life! Rev 12:11 says "and they overcame him by the blood of the lamb and the word of their testimony." In this group, we believe the word of God and we stand on it. Our lives depend on it!
Our team is passionate about blessing our Overcomer friends in every way we possibly can, and prayer is the most powerful tool that we have to speak encouragement, hope, and healing into hearts and lives. We are thankful for the opportunity to serve our Blount County community and for having the privilege of seeing the hand of God move mightily in many lives over the years. If you or someone you know has been diagnosed with cancer, is currently undergoing treatment, or has even been cancer free for many years, we encourage you to come! Please join us as a source for ongoing love and support in your journey.
